Eternal God, you taught us to love you with all our heart and our neighbors as ourselves. We give thanks for your church and our Presiding Bishop Michael, our Bishop Greg, our priests Berto and Hugh asking that they remind us that these commandments are more important than all.Happy are they who have the God of Jacob for their help, whose hope is in the Lord their God.

Eternal God, we give thanks for these United States and pray that our leaders may make wise decision for the common good.

Eternal God, we give thanks for our beloved Orcas Island and the surrounding Salish Sea. We give thanks for the ferry workers who continue their jobs enabling us to stay connected to our doctors, family, friends, and neighbors on the mainland.

Eternal God, we give thanks for our Stewardship chairs Lynn and Tony as well as our co-treasurers Bill and Margie. We pray that we may respond with generosity so Emmanuel may continue our ministries to parishioners and this island community.

Eternal God, we pray for all who suffer in body, mind or spirit, from addiction, unemployment, mental illness or homelessness, particularly those we now name either silently or aloud, (pause) and especially for those on our parish prayer list… those for whom no one prays. May they be comforted by your Holy Spirit. We give thanks for caregivers, social workers, and health care providers who minister to their needs.

Happy are they who have the God of Jacob for their help, whose hope is in the Lord their God.

Eternal God, on this All Hollow’s Eve as we prepare to celebrate All Saints tomorrow, we give thanks for having such a great cloud of witnesses and may they inspire us during our earthly pilgrimage.
