O God, of our Ancestors, we give thanks for your church, all worshipers and especially our leaders, Michael, Melissa, Berto and Hugh. We ask that they teach us to hold fast to what is good and love one another with mutual affection.

We give thanks to you Lord and call upon you.

O God, of our Ancestors, we give thanks for this nation and our leaders. We ask that they protect our freedom so we may live in harmony with one another.

We give thanks to you Lord and call upon you.

O God, of our Ancestors, we give thanks for this earth. We pray for peace throughout around the world. We weep with those who weep because they have been displaced by fires in Louisiana, Yellowknife, West Maui, or throughout the world. We thank firefighters and disaster relief workers who are in harm’s way to protect and provide relief.

We give thanks to you Lord and call upon you.

O God, of our Ancestors, we give thanks for our island community, the beauty of our summer, the absence of serious wildfire on Orcas, and to all who have extended hospitality to strangers during this season of visitors.

We give thanks to you Lord and call upon you.

O God, of our Ancestors, we pray for all who suffer in body, mind or spirit, from addiction, unemployment, mental illness or homelessness, particularly those we now name either silently or aloud, (pause) and especially for those on our parish prayer list… and those for whom no one prays; may they be comforted by your Holy Spirit.

We give thanks to you Lord and call upon you.

O God, of our Ancestors, we give thanks for the lives of the departed. We ask that those who grieve, find comfort from your Holy Spirit

We give thanks to you Lord and call upon you.

O God, of our Ancestors, the wellspring of justice and strength: We thank you for raising up in Prudence Crandall a belief in education and a resolute will to teach girls of every color and race; that alongside her they might take their place in working for the nurture and well-being of all society, undaunted by prejudice or adversity. Grant that we, following her example, may participate in the work of building up the human family in Christ, your Word and Wisdom.

We give thanks to you Lord and call upon your name.
