Eternal God, we give thanks for your church and especially for our leaders Michael, Melissa, Berto  and Hugh. We ask to be inspired by their words to go into this temporal vineyard and do your work.

Eternal God, we give thanks for this nation praying that our leaders quarrel less and govern more so federal workers may do their work without fear of not bring paid.

Eternal God, we give thanks for this earth praying for peace and food security for all as we are all children of God. We give thanks especially for those that respond to disasters and provide shelter and supplies to those in need.

Eternal God, we give thanks for the beauty of Orcas Island and this year’s harvest. We pray that everyone prepares for shorter days and fall storms.

Eternal God, we pray for all who suffer in body, mind or spirit, from addiction, unemployment, mental illness or homelessness, particularly those we now name either silently or aloud, (pause) and especially for those on our parish prayer list… and those for whom no one prays; may they be comforted by your Holy Spirit.

Eternal God, we give thanks for the lives of those who have died praying that they are welcomed by angels to where there is no pain nor sighing and those that mourn be comforted by your Holy Spirit.
