We Pray for the World and the Church
Please stand, as able, when the Intercessor invites us to pray for the world and the church.
Intercessor Wellspring from which all life and love comes, we choose this day to live in peace with our brothers and sisters, realizing that this includes all people on earth.
May we be good soil where seeds of truth and love produce fruit for all.
Wellspring from which all life and love comes, the beauty of the summer here nourishes our souls every day, and we are grateful for the hollyhocks and day lilies, the chickadees and goldfinches, the beauty of the sea and lakes, and the fresh breezes through the firs. Yet, while we enjoy the beauty, may we also remember that the land is scorched in other places, and people are suffering greatly.
May we be good soil where seeds of truth and love produce fruit for all.
Wellspring from which all life and love comes, every day the realities of our nation and the world with its wars, unfairness, lack of compassion, and hatreds confront us. This is not who we are meant to be. May we not be bystanders but participants in healing the world.

Wellspring from which all life and love comes, we are blessed to call our Emmanuel Parish home and to be led by Fr. Berto and Fr. Hugh. May our church continue to be a source for spiritual nourishment and growth, as well as social justice and community caring.

Wellspring from which all life and love comes, many people known to us and unknown to us are suffering from illness, loneliness, depression, grief, addictions, financial difficulties, and homelessness. Love and healing are meant for them. We name them now, either silently or aloud (pause)… And we pray for those on our parish prayer list… Bill & Jane… Heather… Jan… Cheryl… Ian… James… Dick… Renee… Nick… Sara… David… Pam… Laura and Dart… Skipper… Cynthia & Bruce… Wes & Carol… Helen… Diane… Chris… Lynn… Margaret… Maria… Ali… Debbie… Carol… Julia… Jeff… John… Lalo…Morgan…Lynn… Mandy & Lara…Luanne… as well as those for whom no one prays. It matters not if we do not know them or their needs. The energy and love in our prayers will reach them.

Wellspring from which all life and love comes, we remember those who have died and pray for those who mourn them. May they know that love has never left them.

O God, our times are in your hand: Look with favor, we pray, on your servants Scott Heisinger (7/13), Hugh Grant (7/14), Kate Hansen (7/14), and Betsy Taguchi (7/15) as they begin another year. Grant that they may grow in wisdom and grace, and strengthen their trust in your goodness all the days of their lives; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
