We Pray for the World and the Church

Spirit of the ascended Christ, help us to focus on what you have taught us of how to live in this world rather than simply standing and looking toward heaven.

Strengthen us to do your works on earth.

Spirit of the ascended Christ, may we remember that we are meant to be one in love, despite our differences. Help us to be cognizant of that in everything we do.

Strengthen us to do your works on earth.

Spirit of the ascended Christ, we pray for strength and boldness in these times of upheaval and turmoil in our country and in our world. May we each find a way to make a positive difference.

Strengthen us to do your works on earth.

Spirit of the ascended Christ, we feel blessed to have leaders with integrity as our leaders. We are grateful for our beloved priests, Berto and Hugh, as well as our Bishops Sarah, Sean, Phillip, and Mariann. May they continue to be bold as they lead us.

Strengthen us all to do your works on earth.

Spirit of the ascended Christ, we grieve with our Orcas community for the loss of David and Ella. For their families and friends and for everyone who has lost someone dear, we pray for comfort and peace.

Strengthen us to reach out to those who sorrow.

Spirit of the ascended Christ, we pray for those who are in need of physical and mental healing, of safety and protection, of food and shelter.

Strengthen us to reach out to those in need.

Let us pray for those celebrating birthdays this week.

O God, our times are in your hand:  Look with favor, we pray, on your servant Jose Gándara (5/21) as he begins another year. Grant that he may grow in wisdom and grace, and strengthen his trust in your goodness all the days of his life; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
